New Producer Drops: Plugins, Gear & DAW Updates

OpenTune dropped as a free, open-source AI pitch correction tool for vocals, and this is the kind of release that actually matters for home studios. Paid pitch correction has been locked behind subscription pricing for years - having a legitimate free option that uses modern AI modeling instead of the old-school hard-tune artifact sound is a real win for anyone tracking vocals without a big budget.

Pro2Max also released Unirock HumStrat, a free 1.7 GB electric guitar plugin, which is a serious amount of sampling for a no-cost release. If you're building beats that lean into a guitar-driven or alternative-hip-hop direction, that's worth grabbing just to have the option in your session without committing to a hardware setup.

CarbonDSP put out Vellum and Biased as free Windows plugins too, adding to what's already been a strong month for free releases. When this many quality freeware tools land in a short window, it's usually worth grabbing them even if you don't have an immediate use - future you in a session at 1am will be glad the option is already installed.

What I'm actually running right now: my go-to for glueing a beat together before it leaves the session is still a stock compressor on the mix bus, nothing exotic, just used with intention. New plugins are fun, but the fundamentals move a track further than another synth in the folder.
