New Producer Drops: Plugins, Gear & DAW Updates

Studio Kozak dropped SK Rust, a free lo-fi coloration plugin for macOS and Windows. The developer calls it "the sound of something forgotten in a damp Eastern European cellar," and that's honestly a fair description once you hear what it does to a clean signal. Grit and coloration plugins like this earn their keep on drum bus sends where a track needs age it never actually had.

NoiseRoom UIO released Andes JX, a free and open-source polyphonic subtractive synth for Windows, built by an independent audio lab out of Quito, Ecuador. Free synths are usually one-trick, but open-source means the community can actually extend it over time instead of the project going stale the way most freeware does.

HOFA SYSTEM now lets you host one third-party plugin for free inside its platform. If you've been on the fence about SYSTEM because of the subscription model, this is a low-risk way to actually test how it handles hosting before committing to anything.
